Utricularia graminifolia from Asia belongs to the bladderwort family. All the plants in this family are insect eating, perennial water and marsh plants. Bladder traps are a unique feature of this family, which Utricularia graminifolia forms after a short period of time in the aquarium. The species name means 'with grass like leaves' and the fresh green leaves after a short period of time form a pretty mat which looks like a lawn (2-8 cm tall). Utricularia graminifolia is therefore an ideal foreground plant.

1•2•Grow! Are very young plants cultivated and delivered directly from our laboratory. The plants are guaranteed to be free from snails, algae and pesticides and therefore are totally harmless for sensitive shrimp and fish. The range offers unique plants!

Success with your aquarium depends largely on the proper plant choice. In a 1•2•Grow! cup you buy a myriad of plants which can be divided into small portions and cover a larger area. Plants are compact from the start so you will experience a dense and beautiful growth, if you give them the right fertilser and CO2 from the start! The range is perfect for small and medium sized aquariums, and your patience will be rewarded...

1-2 GROW! have a large range of different plants, some common and some rare. Check them out!

plants arrived in excellent condition. followed suggestions and split into 6 separate pieces. Planted up. Now having trouble keeping pieces anchored into gravel. there is no obvious rooting matrix. Nnow into day 5 and had to replant several pieces every morning., whatever is left of them as they seem to be disintegrating! resorted to wrapping lead strips round bunched pieces to hold them down. I so wanted this product to work but am now frustrated with it. Any suggestions welcome.

Looking good now after a few weeks of settling in????????

looks good but needs to be put into an aquarium with no fish as they absolutely love it, pulling it out (as it's so fine) and eating it so no chance to get established.

Ask a question about this product
Hello! I received Utricularia graminifoli. It arrived in great condition. For some reason today it started to die. Maybe its because of the hot weather. What is the best temperature to grow it in? Does it need a lot of light? Should i grow it in the soil, or something else? Also, when will you have it back in stock? I would like to buy some more. Thank you :-)

Pls see the description for the plant requirements. But it does need planting in the substrate! More arrives next week.

What makes this a 'master' plant? Also does this plant have roots? I can't work it out by pictures I see online, some look like its tied down rather than rooting.

Prefers co2 and higher light in general and it has no visible roots

It will still keep itself down though right? No wire needed etc Will it die without Co2? ( I do use liquid co2 but I might not forever. )

Best to tie it down
