Description

Marsilea hirsuta is a carpet-plant from Australia. A fascinating plant, usually delivered with leaves like a four-leaf clover. After a transitional period it develops different types of leaves, possibly a low form with single leaves like a large Glossostigma, or alternatively develop two, three or four-lobed leaves varying in height (from 2-10 cm), depending on the growth conditions. Whichever form the plant adopts, it forms runners and spreads rapidly round the aquarium.

Growth:   Medium
Height:  2 cm - 10 cm
Width:   5 cm - 10 cm
Light demands:   0.50 Watt per liter

1•2•Grow! Are very young plants cultivated and delivered directly from our laboratory. The plants are guaranteed to be free from snails, algae and pesticides and therefore are totally harmless for sensitive shrimp and fish. The range offers unique plants!

Success with your aquarium depends largely on the proper plant choice. In a 1•2•Grow! cup you buy a myriad of plants which can be divided into small portions and cover a larger area. Plants are compact from the start so you will experience a dense and beautiful growth, if you give them the right fertilser and CO2 from the start! The range is perfect for small and medium sized aquariums, and your patience will be rewarded...

1-2 GROW! have a large range of different plants, some common and some rare. Check them out!

Breaks up well into smaller pieces. Good root system makes it easy to plant.

grows well, but because I didn't put it in the right place (should have been more under the light fixture), it is growing upwardish. I will replant it in a better spot. Also tricky to keep it from floating up: I have a mixture of soil-gravel-crushed lava-sand. Had I known the plant was so delicate, I would have gone for a different, sturdier plant for carpeting.

Many TC plants can be tricky to anchor - my advice is the half bury them to avoid them floating.

Plant didn’t look too healthy in the pot, writing review 2 weeks later and it’s threw out a fair amount of runners and seems to be growing well, looks great in the aquarium, shrimps love it they also look cool between the little stems! Delivery was great as always
