Better together

Neutro CO2 is a liquid source of carbon for the planted aquarium.

For those of you not familiar with it, carbon is essential for all healthy plant growth and can be provided via gas, or liquid. The liquid form is not as potent as the gas but is still very effective. It won't make your plants pearl (this is when you see O2 bubbles coming from the plant) but it will help them grow. Plants that have access to liquid carbon will do far better than those without.

In addition to this, if you over dose Neutro CO2, it can have a negative effect on algae (helps reduce it). However you need to take care when overdosing, and increase it slowly. Perhaps 25% extra, then monitor the results. We do not recommend more than double dose.

It is also possible to spot treat plants or wood that have algae growing on them. Simply by using a pipette and extracting some Neutro CO2, squirt the carbon onto the plant or wood when it is outside of the water. Wait for 10 seconds then put it back into the water. You can also do this when performing a water change (it's easiest that way). But if you leave liquid carbon on for too long you will kill the plant.

DIRECTIONS: Add 5ml per 250L every day. It doesn't matter what time of day you dose this product, but it does need to be added every 24 hours.

Bottle sizes: Small = 500ml,  Medium = 1000ml,  Large = 2000ml

I used to used a pressurised CO2 system in my tanks, but subsequent to moving house some few years back never set it up again. Subsequently decided to use the liquid form of CO2 from Aqua Essentials and it seems to do the trick. I only rated this as 4 star because I guess the pressurised method must be best. However, my plants are doing well so guess I will stay with AE liquid form. Thanks AE, well done, good product as usual, B

First time buy, too early to tell.

I have kept tropical fish for many years. Some years ago I used to use a professional CO2 system which worked very well indeed. Following my move a few years ago although I continued with my love of fish keeping I never re setup my pressurised system and I certainly noticed a difference in plant growth (my primary interest in the tropical aquarium. I recently thought I would give the Neutro CO2 a go and I am beginning to think that my flagging plants are picking up and beginning to do well.

This product does exactly what it says on the package the only fault which is so minor it hardly should be said is I cant get to terms with the measuring system I use a measuring cup instead it is much easier, otherwise sensibly sized packaging clear and exact instructions for use

Only been using this a few days, though I think I see a difference already.

Trying this for the first time. Plants are looking good so far so watch this space!

Ask a question about this product
Hi, Which neutro do I use with this Neutro or Neutro Thanks

Are you injecting CO2 into your tank?

Hi, No, just using Neutro co2 Thanks

Ok. You need use Neutro T then.

is Neutro CO2 safe to use with shrimp?

Hi,Do any of your Neutro produccts contain copper ? Thanks

They do yes but in such small quantites that they will not effect shrimp if that was your concern

Hi - thanks for the answer. It is regarding shrimp and copper. Do you have any data sheets detailing ppm of copper in your Neutro Co2 and Neuto T formulas.

We don't sorry. But seriously don't get hung up on the Cu content as it won't effect shrimp.

Hi, Will this or Neutro T affect fish in anyway? (mainly concerned about my loaches) and does it affect the oxygen content of the water? Many Thanks

None of the Neutro range will effect fish, shrimp or oxygen levels.

Hello was wondering as it affects algae would it have any adverse affect on Nerite onion snails and Horned snails as I have 4 that tend to graze on any algae that builds up in the tank

Safe to use with nerites.

how about waterdhange day , is it just a case of do your waterchange then dose as normal?

Just dose normal amount

Hiya Guys, been looking at the liquid carbon again. You've already stated it is alright for shrimp which is great but I'm trying to get my head around the dosage. You state 5ml per 250 Ltrs. For my 28 Ltr tank I make that 0.75ml and that's possibly a little bit too much. Our my calculations correct and is it worth it??

That's correct. I would just add 1ml. The dose is not set in stone.

What's the ingredient list in here?

Same as all liquid carbons - Glutaraldehyde

Can I combine this with CO2 gas injection?

absolutely and recommended

I read somewhere that I shouldn't have any activated carbon in a planted tank. I run a fluval u3 filter that includes the poly carbon pads, and biomass media Could this be impacting anything? I dose liquid carbon amd neutro T, thanks.

Your carbon media is removing liquid carbon and fertilisers
