Description

Originating from Asia the Microsorum pteropus is one of many different varieties of this species, each with their own leaf shape.

This plant is extremely undemanding and will grow best tied to rock or wood. Light isn't an issue as this plant will grow well in both low lighting and high lighting tanks.

Bought a few of these, arrived nice & fresh & healthy, placed on driftwood in both my aquariums, taken really well, they are all thriving nicely, my fish love them especially the cory's,

Lovely green leaves very happy

I bought 2 of these and they were absolutely fantastic, lovely healthy plants, so I ordered another 2, when they arrived, they were totally different, the stems were all spindly and a lot of the leaves were brown. I raised my concerns with Richard, and was basically told that quality varies due to which supplier has them in stock. I have been a good customer of aqua essentials for many years, and received good quality plants and service, but On this occasion was disappointed to say the least. Will not be purchasing again!

The one’s you were unhappy with were Tropica which are of a very high quality - just a different style of growing to Aquafleur. We never said the quality was different. Health is superb on those plants and the leaves are leaner and thinner but quality still spot on as you’d expect from the worlds number 1 plant grower Tropica.

Is this ok in a non CO2 tank?

Staff

This plant does fine without CO2 (even better with!)

Hi. Is the price per pot? Thanks.

Staff

Yes :)

Guest
helo is pesticides used on the plants ,would they be safe for a shrimp tank?

Staff
No pesticides are ever used on our plants and they are safe for use with shrimp tanks.

Hi what price can you do on 30-40 plants if i were to order, as that price is a bit steep to buy in decent numbers

Staff
10% off for that qty

As you don't use pesticides as per a previous comment, is there a chance of having snail arrive on a plant? (it's not an issue if there is as I have some snail ravanous dwarf loaches, but just wanted to know)

Guest
Does the plant actually come in/with the pot?

Staff

Highly unlikely any snails on the plant as they’re kept out of water

Plant comes with pot

Guest
pot was too deep for my substrate so i took it out and squashed the filling down to about 3 inches by half an inch plant appears be doing well after nearly a week is this ok

Staff

will probably rot like that. Best tied to wood or rock.

I'm looking at purchasing a java fern as I'm a beginner, will I need to treat the plant for snails

Staff

Depends. If you 100% don't want snails, then your only option is to choose tissue cultured plants. However, this plant isn't available in tissue culture form.

That said, this plant is kept above the water line which dramatically reduces any chance of pests like snails. It's not therefore a guarantee, but it's highly unlikely you'll have an issue.

Do I need to remove this from the pot?

Staff

Yes

Guest
Hello, How tall are the 2 units in stock?

Staff

about 15cm tall

Guest
Are they snail free

Staff

Most likely but if you want a guarantee then you need to buy tissue cultured plants. That said, this plant isn't available in that format.
