Guava leaves are used in the shrimp hobby to encourage breeding and establish suitable water conditions so the shrimp are content. More recently hobbyists have realised the benefits to fish and as a result use them as a water conditioner due to their rather magical effects. ??The leaves have been air dried and packaged to retain their freshness so that when placed in the aquarium they achieve the desired results.?? Some benefits are:
• A natural food for shrimp and one which they graze upon after a few days of being in the tank.
• 100% natural - no need for liquid chemicals
• Prevents bacteria vibrio that can cause shrimp death
• Prevents and eliminates luminous bacteria in shrimp
The leaves float to begin with and sink after a few days. You can boil them first if you want them to sink immediately (but I suggest just being patient).
Dosage: We recommend one leaf per 20L of water. Once the leaf decomposes replace. If trying to breed shrimp, use 3-4 leaves per 20L and leave in the aquarium until the shrimp have consumed the leaf. ??Rinse all leaves before placing in aquarium.
Note: Picture is for illustration purposes. If you want 5 Guava leaves for example, add 5 to the Qty box.
