Originating from Sri Lanka the Cryptocoryne legroi is a slow growing vibrant plant which produces leaves of a matt bronze colour with an added tint of green. This plant requires little attention and will flourish with good nutrients. Too much lighting will stump the growth so don't be afraid to keep it a little darker.

This Crypt will look beautiful amongst rocks and wood, adding that bit of variety to your tank.

Understanding Crypt melt - all Cryptocoryne species require stable water parameter and light conditions. Once planted, Crypts should not be moved otherwise it can trigger what is called Crypt melt. If a Crypt has a significant change of environment (ph, kh , gh, lighting intensity or duration, root disturbance etc), Crypt melt can be triggered. The leaves start to disintegrate as the plant prepares for its new environment - DO NOT WORRY! Your plant will begin to grow back over the next 30 days (sometimes sooner, sometimes later) - it's still very much alive and busy getting ready for the growth of new leaves. In the meantime, any decaying leaves should be trimmed and recycled in a compost bin.

attractive little thing, looks very well in a corner of my densly planted tank, was very impressed with the quality of the plant, and look forward to watching it develop into maturity. Aquaessentials website full of information and ( important! ) encouragement.

Just love these small plants, they came well packed, with speedy delivery. They are a neet little plant, and have established well in my tank. I will only buy from aquaessentials from now on.

This is looking like a slower grower in my fairly dim aquaria but is a good looking plant with its delicate colouring. As usual from Aquaessentials good quality plant supplied.

Was happy to receive such healthy and colorful plants. They are off to a great start already in my low tech set up.

Ask a question about this product
How do you plant once taken out of basket? Do you split the plant? what spacing between plants and what coverage would one get with 3 plants?

Yes always remove from the basket (we've done a YouTube clip on how to deal with potted plants so search for that too).

Split the plant up to 3-4 pieces and spread out 2-3cm apart.

Hi, how do these fair underneath other plants ? i.e do they grow in the shade ?

Crypts like the shade so no problem
