Description

Cardamine lyrata is found in the marsh lands of Japan but adapts very well to life under water. In fact it grows very quickly and for this reason, it's popular with hobbyists who want rapid growth in a short period of time (for example in the start up when uptake of nutrients is very important).

It's very simple to grow and it will trail along your substrate. You will need to maintain it, simply trim and re-plant. In cooler temperatures the leaves are large and in warmer water, they become small.

Arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Was extremely well packaged. A very pretty plant. Is growing well. Would definitely buy from Aqua Essentials in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

I am a completey beginner with aquarium plants, and have set up my first planted tank. Japanese cress was a perfect choice for me because I wanted something that grew really fast - they're not joking! It has almost doubled in height and I even had to move it further away from my filter to avoid having it grow too close. I have fallen in love with this plant! There was some "melting" of the leaves but they were soon replaced by new ones

This was one of 6 plants that I ordered about 3 weeks ago and I was very pleased indeed as they all arrived in absolutely perfect condition. I found it very easy to separate up the plants for multiple planting in my newest tank. I am using a general purpose base, root tabs, Easycarbo and plant nutrition- so far the new plants seem to be taking really well, the Monte Carlo has a bit of early yellow die back on the old leaves but the roots are spreading and the new leaves can be seen so I am pleased.

Great plant, good looking, lasted one day before the goldfish had eaten both plants. Looked nice for a short while though.
