Very rare bulb. Only available once per year.

This is an unusual bulb that does not grow any floating leaves like most bulbs. The leaves grow right from the rhyzome.
Reddish green leaves make it very attractive. Snails can make light work of it due to the delicate and rather tasty leaves.

In terms of growth, this plant can grow quite big from 30-80cm, but it grows at a moderate pace.

Note: All bulbs are sent without leaves (so bulb only).

We don't have this plant in stock very often as it's hard to come by so if you're thinking maybe - strike while the iron is hot!

Lastly, if you did fancy reading up a bit more about this bulb, have a look on this link.

Always been a fan of Barclaya longifolia, not so easy to get hold of these days. Bulb arrived quickly and in very good condition with 3 tiny leaves just appearing, it's been in my aquarium for just over a week and has already started to show good growth. Very pleased with the bulb and with Aqua Essentials. Thanks.

Looks great. Grows slowly but well.

Difficult to comment too much. So far it's a small brown lump that has sunk to the bottom of the tank and not done much yet. Although the anticipation is great this will need another review once it's had a chance to settle. It's obviously not as quick growing as an aponogeton (but then not a lot is) as the one that went in with it has already got 3 inch leaves.

Hi it says the Barclays does not like flow ? We have an external filter that puts a flow into the tank obviously closer to the outlet is stronger and reduces as you move along the length . I was unsure if it would be suitable as their are many kinds of flow. Lucy

I would place it as far away from flow as poss
