Description

Manten Stone is the most exciting rock to come out of Japan and is used for aquascaping in planted aquariums and hardscapes. A solid and robust rock with detail, cravaces and character. Each pieces varies in size and shape however most are gray in colour with interesting streaks and lines throughout the rock. The contours of the rock are uneven and irregular in shape adding to the appeal of these.

This rock would look amazing when used in fully planted aquariums scattered amongst plants and equally as impressive in hardscapes positioned around shapely pieces of wood such as Redmoor Wood. The picture contains 14kgs of rock and they have been soaked in water to reflect what they look like underwater.

If you have a particular size, shape or style in mind, feel free to leave notes in the comments section when checking out and the picking team will try (but not guarantee) to match it as closely as possible :)

Why pay for ADA prices when you can have Manten Stone from us, at affordable prices.

Sold per kg so if you want 10kgs, make sure you add 10 in the qty box.

Arrived on time and rocks are looking great in my aquarium

I'll give another review because I did not see the note on my receipt apologising that the rocks only come in huge sizes. The rock itself is a beautiful looking thing, a hammer and chisel makes easy work of breaking it down to smaller sizes also. When you do break it down into size it lets off a rancid egg smell which is just divine haha. No effects on water parameters that i've found. Highly recommended.

The rock itself is great but don't bother asking them about the size you want. I asked for a few smaller pieces not one large rock. I got sent 1 large rock and a tiny chip of one. Happy with the rock, size is completely unusable so I've wasted my money.

This Rock is very heavy so make sure you order enough. Delivery was fast as usual. Looks great in the tank.

What is the size range of rocks? Is it possible to order 3 or 4 larger pieces for a 200L tank rather than multiple smaller pieces?

Staff

we have some larger ones so yes atm!

Large pieces weigh 7-9kg

I need 4 medium sized rocks for a 30L tank, how many kgs would that be to order?

Staff
Depends what you describe as medium. Smallest rock is 2kgs

Guest
how many kg would i need to do an impressive aquascape in a 30l nano ?

Staff

Good question. This rock is generally large and boulder like so may not be entirely suitable. But if you wanted it try 6kgs and leave a comment that it's for a 30l tank.

I changed my mind on the nano and ordered mini landscape rock instead.I really like the look of this stone though and I'm thinking of re-scaping my 100 litre,How many kg would you suggests for an impressive aquascape,my tank is 90cm long? Kind regards James

Staff

25-30kgs

Morning, I'm working on a thrilling aquascape only using this rocks ad hardscape. My tank is a 160L, 100*40*40. I'm thinking 25-30kg will be ok, what do you think? And also, on the mobile website you mention there are only 6 ¿units? in stock, but it doesn't appear on the full site. Do you have enough rocks for dispatching this week? Thanks

Staff

25kgs should be enough and I've updated stock with correct amounts so fill your boots :)

Guest
Hello, do you know when you will have more of this rock in stock?

Staff

February

Guest
i need quite alot for my 240 litre tank, how many kg do you recomend?

Staff

we only have 12 kilograms in stock at the moment and you need more than that

Guest
how much variation in colour is there in this rock as some i recieved was brownish grey and if i order any more i would like it to match?

Staff

Normally fairly similar but hard to say as all natural products can and do vary from time to time

Have you any small detailed pieces in stock at present (around 10cm etc)? I just ordered some and I'm loving the bigger pieces you sent, but I could do with buying more smaller pieces - I'm only interested if they show the line type detail that the best pieces of this rock have.

Staff

We might have a few left. If you ordered maybe 2kgs and left a comment for the picker when checking out, he will do his best for you :)

I cannot guarantee anything though such as line type detail.

Hi, I have recently purchased a fluval Osaka 155 and would like to create a rock/root/moss structure,400mm high, 300mm base, leading down from back corner to front. I love the look of the baltic rock. are you able to give me a rough idea of weight and what size the pieces would be? many thanks

Staff

I recommend 25kgs. You'll get a good mix and be able to create a lovely scape.

Guest
excellent, do I just enter the number of kg's required into the quantity box? thanks for your help

Staff

yeah just enter 25

Guest
Hello will this rock have an effect on water chemistry? I am thinking about using in my crystal red setup.

Staff

From our experience no

Guest
Roughly, how large would a 1kg piece be?

Staff

Just bigger than a cricket ball

Guest
What sort of weight would I need for a 70L tank (56x40 base) to get a scape like this one https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/558446422525109372/ I was also wondering if pH or hardness are affected? Looking forward to your reply. Thanks

Staff

15-20ks

It's dense rock so you don't get that much for your money - it is beautiful though.

Doesn't effect water chemisty

Guest
Hi, how many KG's would you recommend for a 400l tank? I'd like some larger pieces, as well as smaller. I don't want to add to much rock as I have a very large piece of bogwood as well. Cheers

Staff

Probably 50kgs

Guest
Any idea when this will be back in stock? Also trying to do an aquascape like this http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/features/articles/a-thoroughly-modern-aquascape how much will i roughly need you think? Thanks in advance

Staff

2 weeks and about 25kg

Guest
I have a 90l tank 77cm x 31 x 39, how much rock would i need to make a hard scape simular to the one by aquarium design on facebook in their 45cm ultum nature system tank?

Staff

They've probably got 20kgs in that tank.

So scale yours up from there. Always better to have more rock than less so it ives you something to play with. They will have cherry picked from hundreds of kgs to get the desired effect.

Guest
Hi, I have a 21L tank. Any recommendations on how much I should purchase and an average size of the delivered stones? Thanks

Staff

Perhaps 4-5kgs which will give you something to work with. Bear in mind the rocks are about 2kgs each
