GlaFoam Plus is a mixture of recycled glass and ground oyster shells. This yields a very porous material with a wide range of pore sizes, which promotes bacterial adhesion and water purification. Using it helps to reduce ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.

During the manufacturing process, large quantities of minute pores are formed in various sizes which promote extreme purification bacteria development. The smaller pores (0.02-0.1mm) are designed for bacterial development while the larger sized pores (0.1-0.5mm) are designed to supply higher levels of oxygen and nutrition to maintain bacteria regeneration. This powerful combination of pores offers the ideal filtering effect.

800ml of Glafoam is sufficient for a 160L aquarium making it very economical and larger quanitites make it even more powerful. Useful for replacing eheim media and other similar products.

This product should be placed in external filters so should be placed directly in a filter tray. For convenience use a filter net to keep the media in one place (see related product below).
