i bought this product because i was sick of having a yellow tinge to my water and to be honest i was skeptical that it would work, id tried all the other alternatives activated carbon charcoal and so on with no success, but this is something else, its been in the filter for just over an hour now and my water is already 3 maybe 4 times clearer than it was.
Truly an amazing product, a worth addition to the list of aquarium essentials.

I have a 60cm opti-white high clarity tank set up as an Iwagumi, so there is a lot of water column to look at. Whilst the water is nice and clear, I thought I would see what I could do to really get the most out of all that quality glass.
One 100ml bag of Purigen and one water change later and the results were obvious. The water I was taking out during the change was clearer than what was going in to the tank, and my tap water is of quite a good quality.
All that remains now is to buy some more Purigen for my two other tanks. Highly recommended.

As Golan said in the review above - a fantastic product!
I also had tannins from driftwood turning my water brown - in less than 24 hours the water was crystal clear and remained so... amazing!
Highly recommended!!

I have began using this product after reading about it and becoming curious about Seachem's claim that it clarifies water better than activated carbon or a diatom filter, and that it is better for the planted tank as it doesn't absorb any of the nutrients essential for plants.
As I have several pieces of driftwood in my planted tank I always had a yellowish tint because of the tannins even though I was always using an activated carbon, and there was always a noticeable difference in water clarity after doing my weekly water change.
Then I put Purigen for the test. The result was astonishing. Within a few hours my water became clearer than it's every been before, so clear in fact, that it looked unnatural at first. It certainly does a much better job than activated carbon. I guess it's hard to realise what a huge difference it makes, but now my water are clearer *before* water changes and it takes a few hours for the Purigen to polish them. And I'm using R/O water!
Only thing that one should pay attention before using this product is that if you use amine based slime coat products will render Purigen non-regenrable, and will possibly make it toxic to your fish, so this is something you should pay attention to. Other than that, and because I don't use any stress coat products, I can only recommend this product. Everyone should have one for each of their tanks.
