ok, so i am researching a variety of freshwater shrimp, ans have come across Bamboo's, which appear somewhat different to the more common cherry's and the likes……
I read that for babies to survive they need a touch of salt in the water, so am i right in thinking that Bamboo Shrimp in general need slightly brackish water all the time to successfully keep and breed them?
Cheers
Sadly I have no experience of breeding fan shrimp, so not something I can comment on. They are very easy to keep in a planted aquarium though and do not require particularly specific conditions and brackish water is not one of them.
cheers richard, after more research i dont think my tank, approx 60 litres would be really big enough for some if i’m honest.
i do fancy some of your fire reds mind – are these actually red cherry shrimp but have been selectively bred for a more intense red colouration?
reason i ask is because i am getting some cherries so thinking with the addition of some fire reds could in with them could make a small breeding project with a view to getting my cherries a brighter red colouation in generations to come??
forgot to ask – when will you have fire reds/tigers back in stock please?
couple of weeks or so until more arrive
That’s right – fire reds are cherry shrimp, but just selectively bred.
