Alternanthera Rosaefolia Mini is a fine-looking small bushy, stem plant with sturdy red/purple stems and long, pointy attractive leaves. These plants originate from South America and need plenty of light to develop the red/purple leaves. With the addition of CO2 this plant will grown readily to the surface. If there is a lack of micro nutrients this plant will suffer and the leaves will become pale in colour. This engaging plant will bring instant vibrancy and colour to your aquarium. As with all stem plants grow in groups of two and up. A beautiful yet slightly demanding plant. Conditions:
Big value! Date Added: 15/03/2012 by Leah Craven
I've tried the bigger version of this plant under low light, when I first started my fish tanks and although it grew, it was leggy and all the leaves dropped off, from lack of lighting.
After I got higher lighting I decided to give this plant another go and then came across a mini version, on this site. I wasn't disappointed when I received this plant, it was very pink and compact which is perfect for my nano tank. I just wish it would look this good under lower lighting, for my bigger fish tank. Again, the leaves and roots were healthy and overall I was very pleased.
