The purple colour underneath leaves of Alternanthera reineckii 'Pink' from South America provides an effective contrast to the many green plants in an aquarium - particularly when planted in groups. Stems becomes 25-50 cm tall.

Good light encourages the leaves to turn red. Easy to propagate by nipping off the terminal bud and planting it in the substrate. This also makes the mother plant more bushy, because more side shoots are formed.

Extremely well packaged plant that arrived very healthy and undamaged. Too early to tell how it settles into my tank but I'm very impressed with the service and quality of plant/ shipping service.

You can grow this in a low tech set up but it may become leggy i.e be bushy at the top and nothing at the bottom due to the lack of light

hello can you help i got this plant from you a week ago it did ok at first and now all the lifes have lost there color and look waterlogged it was me how ask the question.my tank is low tec i have 1 t8 lamp i got all my substrat from you at the same time my lights are on for 5hours a day i have very good flow and i have a home made co2 and that is in the green.meany thanks

Red plants need more light than any other in order to retain their colour. So you need brighter lighting, for longer. Try increasing your CO2 flow rate and increase lighting gradually up to 8 hours per day. Trim the plant regularly, and heavily on a weekly basis. Make sure you're also adding liquid carbon and plenty of fertilisers such as Neutro+.
